
RYA VHF (GMDSS) RADIO COURSE
The VHF radio is an invaluable tool in the event of a life threatening disaster whilst on the water. It is also useful for routine communications with marinas, Coastguard, harbour authorities and other boats. Subsequently there are some legal requirements covering the equipment and licences and certificates to be obtained.
The course, run by the RYA under the authority of the Maritime and Coastguard Agency, is designed to provide you with the Certificate of Competence and will enable you to become familiar with the VHF – DSC system. RYA First Aid Courses

RYA Radar Course
Powerboats, yachts and motorcruisers increasingly have radars onboard. The International Regulations for the Prevention of Collisions at Sea state that if you have a radar onboard, you must know how to use it. This course satisfies the requirements of this legislation and some catergories of commercial work afloat.
The aim is to teach students to use small boat Radar to assist decision-making in navigation, pilotage and collision avoidance.

A basic introduction to navigation and safety for anyone new to boating: powerboaters, jetskiers, sailors, sea anglers, divers and boatmasters. Also useful for experienced dinghy and keelboat sailors and inshore racers.
